Everything You Need to Know About ROOTEDLOCS BY ESTY
How long does the installation take?
A full Sisterlocks® or Microlocs installation takes about 12 hours depending on your hair length and density. Breaks are included to keep you comfortable throughout the process.
How should I prepare my hair for installation?
Your hair must be washed and blow-dried before your appointment. Please arrive with clean, product-free, fully stretched hair so we can begin on time.
Is a consultation required?
Yes. A $25 consultation is required for all new and transfer clients before booking any installation service.
Can the consultation be done virtually?
Yes. Consultations can be physical or virtual, whichever is more convenient for you.
Do returning clients need a consultation?
No. Existing/returning clients do not need a consultation. You can go ahead and book your retie or any service of your choice.
Why is a deposit required?
The deposit fee secures your installation appointment slot and ensures your date is reserved exclusively for you.
How often should I come in for a retie?
You are advised to come in for a retie every 4–6 weeks to keep your roots neat, protect your parting, and maintain the overall health of your locs.
Can I switch from another loctician to Rootedlocs by Esty?
Yes. Transfer clients are welcome, but a consultation is required so we can evaluate your locs and create a healthy maintenance plan.
What happens during the consultation?
We assess your hair, discuss Sisterlocks® vs Microlocs, review sizing and parting options, and create a plan that fits your goals and lifestyle.
